The course it uses has changed several times just in the last few years that I know of. \nThat's a good question! Chip timing has it's positives and negatives. On the positive side, it's a lot easier to ensure that a time is recorded for every runner. On the negative side, having the chip the foot give some variance. The winner (or the record) should really be determined by when the torso breaks the plain at the finish.

\nAs for the record, that sounds like a judgement call. It should be up to the meet management (Buena High School) and perhaps the timing company, Royal Results.
